Mavin Dee Band has started a new chapter. The band took refuge inside their own musical sanctuary in the GAM studio’s (a small cabin-style studio built by the famous La Chapelle studio’s where most famously Marvin Gaye recorded his final studio album Midnight Love) in the Belgian Ardennes. The Album was appropriately named “Changes”, after a song that didn’t end up making the final cut, but best encompasses the story of the album none the less.

“Influenced by such acts as Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Sting and John Mayer, they honestly sound like they could be from Nashville or Austin, rather than Rotterdam”

Changes is about a band who no longer lets other people tell them what to do. It’s about growing up and making choices. About looking forward and daring to take a step back. About prosperity and adversity. But mostly, it’s about overcoming the voices (inside your head and in your surroundings) that tell you you’re not good enough, and finding your own way.

The album was released in October 2019, celebrated with a huge release show in Paard, The Hague – where the band was accompanied by Strings and Horns as well as several guest musicians.

‘Bolt Everything Down’, the first single off the album, was especially wel recieved in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany and Spain, where the track was playlisted on National radio rotation. The the Netherlands the band was invited to perform live on Q Music, NPO Radio 1 and NPO Radio 5, they performed an official support show for Dave Matthews Band in AFAS Live. On top of this, 4 bandmembers also performed live in a sold out Ahoy (12x) and The Kuip (5x), where they sang in the choir for Marco Borsato.

Now, during the Corona Age, The band is recording and releasing as many online sessions as possible, and they’ve just released their new single ‘Proud’ on all platforms.

“Musically complex yet easy to follow pop-rock music with a prominent role for vocal harmonies.”
